https://puu.sh/BmWqu/bac07a33fa.wav finally bothered to record this
more fun fm stuff from that softsynth
silly electronics stuff
i dunno about you but
despite having way more components to replace, i'd rather repair the 250W
350 is so cheaply built that even if i replaced the caps it'd probably have more failures within months
https://puu.sh/BliaY/c83b140fd5.wav this is what I mean btw (it's rather quiet, but still very audible in recordings from my old comp)
hell i'm considering recapping the entire motherboard since it was released right around when capacitor plague became a thing
it's just luckily been in mostly working order
i suppose I'll have to recap things eventually
20+ year old components are bound to get fucky after a while
it sounds really good through the doom softsynth i have, tho
you can't change which synthesizer is the default within windows anymore, so it has to be changed within whatever program you're using for your midis (which I know can be done in Winamp at least)
