still hate how the one friend I was dangerously attached to for the longest time had a scent that comforted me, because they smelled almost *exactly* like the scent I used to associate with home

I rely on scent a lot

every person smells different and I can usually pick up on a scent from an individual I'm friends with

and more often than not, good friends smell good

if something comes up, like I find out a friend is actually really awful about something, I've noticed they will start to smell... well, really bad.

this is probably because I haven't gone swimming in either of the local pools for like 5+ years

weirdly enough, I find myself wanting to get to know the smell of an obviously chlorinated pool again
