sads-related philosophical thought stuff (part 2/2)
@bea honestly what worries me is the fact that we have to assume we have a spirit
how the fuck am i working how do i have one constant view of reality how isn't it broken up aaaaa
sads-related philosophical thought stuff (part 2/2)
putting your brain in a jar and hooking it up so that it can see and talk means it's still your spirit. let's assume your brain can be put to sleep and then say...your visual processing center can be replaced with a perfect tech replica. this tech replica reacts the exact same way the old part of your brain does. if your brain slowly becomes a cyborg until it's entirely technology, do you ever cease to exist?
sads-related philosophical thought stuff (part 1/2)
okay, let's assume for simplicity that each brain houses a spirit, and that spirit is your consciousness. let's assume that over the course of your lifetime, the same spirit lives in you because it's the same brain. destroying the brain destroys the spirit, which means basically its view goes black and it ceases to exist. cloning someone and destroying the original means the clone houses a different spirit that's exactly the same. etc. with me?

@mkosler no, i'm fairly certain the person's talking about the grub rescue menu, i'm just asking what it is because assumptions mean you'll end up accidentally playing "pin the tail on the nuclear reactor"
@edef {a: +{}} returns NaN in the same conditions as {}+{} which is interesting
@edef (also, []+{} is "[object Object]", so)
