@Elizafox @Trev@icosahedron.website stop, and not in the reference way

@Elizafox two parts of the exact same thing: a huge fucking hammer

twurl is just like "what if curl but instead of being designed for internet, designed for api (specifically: birdsite api)"
it's okay

is there something like twurl but for mastodon yet

a symbol for each date of birth, including a specific modulo of the year since there's much more than 365 unicode symbols

@shel my favourite is symbols that aren't zodiac signs

"Only ♃ will understand this struggle"
"OMG, why are 𝄞 always like this???"
"Friendship signs: ⏏ and ∅"

@abgd @squirrel i've seen them used as a way to request features many times and i think at this point it's a use for issues that should be acknowledged

@abgd @squirrel imo probably the second one except it'll be more like a private group
honestly, gnu social !groups are more like birdsite lists
i'm thinking of birdsite group dms but they function like mastodon dms without the need to @ everyone

@boots @squirrel @abgd yeah, this is also issue 12 on glitchsoc

github.com/glitch-soc/mastodon

there was a v good discussion about all this stuff last week in which we broke down this stuff into multiple features that can be implemented separately

i need to do a write-up on that and post it

github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/

this is a really good github issue for making mutual-only posts if anyone wants to support it!!! i know there are some people who are definitely interested in this

@squirrel @abgd github.com/tootsuite/mastodon/
this is issue 422
it's open
i'd like to point out as of now mastodon is dealing with issues that are getting close to number *3000*

@squirrel actually it works like directs, just that your followers are included by default, so they will see your reply

still, i'm just going to submit a github issue for this if one doesn't exist because i don't think even the people ready to jump down and say that "oh, the issue is actually fine it works for me" for every single issue that involves user experience have a good reason why this should be this way

i can type 2 to the power of 24 from memory and i didnt even know this was a power i had

@squirrel that's fine.
i just want you to know i'm here for you if you're trying to decide !!

@squirrel i mean if you trust me enough you can vent to me

@squirrel i just like to scream into direct posts that don't have anyone tagged
