sads-related philosophical thought stuff (part 2/2)

@bea honestly what worries me is the fact that we have to assume we have a spirit
how the fuck am i working how do i have one constant view of reality how isn't it broken up aaaaa

sads-related philosophical thought stuff (part 2/2)

putting your brain in a jar and hooking it up so that it can see and talk means it's still your spirit. let's assume your brain can be put to sleep and then say...your visual processing center can be replaced with a perfect tech replica. this tech replica reacts the exact same way the old part of your brain does. if your brain slowly becomes a cyborg until it's entirely technology, do you ever cease to exist?

okay, let's assume for simplicity that each brain houses a spirit, and that spirit is your consciousness. let's assume that over the course of your lifetime, the same spirit lives in you because it's the same brain. destroying the brain destroys the spirit, which means basically its view goes black and it ceases to exist. cloning someone and destroying the original means the clone houses a different spirit that's exactly the same. etc. with me?

@wxcafe@social.wxcafe.net slowly take a single onion and cream chip, and then eat it while staring the computer down, hoping to intimidate it into booting

i just told them to run a random command from the install instructions list and they were like "oh yeah i forgot that it works now thanks"

im in a discord server that provides support for a linux app

i have lost count of the times i've asked "are you on linux" and gotten a "no, i'm on windows. why?" in response

@mkosler no, i'm fairly certain the person's talking about the grub rescue menu, i'm just asking what it is because assumptions mean you'll end up accidentally playing "pin the tail on the nuclear reactor"

i should not be allowed to do tech support in discord channels because whenever someone is just getting incomprehensible and i don't understand their issue my default response is "perform a blood sacrifice"

@nightpool@cybre.space locking my post and replying to a thread

@nightpool@cybre.space nope, i have the whole authorized followers thing

why do follower only mentions have the same "direct message" warning saying itll be federated to the instances of the people you mention
itll be federated to all of my follower's instances, mastodon
shouldnt it warn if im mentioning someone who doesn't follow me

i think i may have found a legit bug in firefox's JS
{a: +{}} in dev console returns NaN
x={a: +{}} in dev console returns "Object { a: NaN }"

@edef {a: +{}} returns NaN in the same conditions as {}+{} which is interesting
