I'm thinking of these people that are into holistic medicine

1. It's not medicine
2. It's not medicine
3. Refer to 1 and 2

Yes I have some of my mum's family into it ... I have never met a sicker bunch

@Melissabeartrix what kinda things are we talking. Like essential oils for everything and iv vitamin c for cancer, and yoga yogurt for chronic pain or ...

@budsofstone @Melissabeartrix

There's a few Medicare-approved holistic medicine places in Australia. Somehow. I do not comprehend it.

@Melissabeartrix @budsofstone

Apparently there's meant to be some sort of research board, but they tend more to say "no" to particular things, rather than only "yes" to things that work.

@shaknais@mastodon.social @budsofstone@computerfairi.es @Melissabeartrix@hugz.online "holistic medicine" is not to be confused with bullshit, although it's frequently a label the bullshit peddlers like to use. "Holisitc" just means "looking at the whole", so if you've got a dietician, a GP, a physio, etc, that can be holistic medicine.

What shits me no end is that Chiropractors are covered by medicare... that stuff is straight up bullshit, they think you can cure HIV by manipulating the spine! Cancer too. No seriously look it up.
