christianity has poisoned our society in so many ways, but it has made people think their thoughts by themselves do anything and That there is some ability to know what people are thinking or feeling. You aren't an empath, your a secular Christian.
Thinking nice or evil thoughts does nothing without action.

OH YEAH!

(for real though, Liberalism is borderline a Civic Religion in a superstitious Christian tradition where not blowing sunshine up your own ass about Liberalism hurts The State God and causes punishments. And nothing is real unless they themselves collectively think it is)

@ciggysmokebringer @budsofstone i get so tired of the "word of god" bullshit. I love books, and I read non-stop. But I don't tell people that a character in my book is going to deliver on promises in real life because the book says so. I'm pagan, and even in our own texts like the Hávamál it doesn't say bullshit like that.

@praetor @budsofstone

It absolutely bugs the shit out of me given we have historical insight into what did and did not 'make it in' back in 325 AD, and several theological threads are exactly about authorship.

I'm not a christian, I'm a light enthusiast of religious history and universalist touchstones and these mofos don't even care about how their thing came to be through human hands and minds.

@ciggysmokebringer @budsofstone Thou Shalt Not religious texts are only found in middle eastern Abrahamic religions. If you look at Hinduism which is SUBBBBSTTTAAANNNNTTTIALY older than even Judiasm, the moral code is just "good advise". Nothing says you have to follow it to the letter. It's easier if you do, but your dick won't fall off it you don't. You just learn things the hard way is all. Religious laws are actually very rare.

@praetor @ciggysmokebringer yeah, its a century long book club. Turned white supremacist colonial nightmare death cult. The part that gets me is they dont even know the text and as i was raised in a fundamentalist christian cult I can talk them in circles about their own "religion" it always ends in a out burst about the "plan of god" cause their bullshit word of god crap didn't work. Its all an excuse to be hateful and abusive and they know it.

@budsofstone I was in AP Bio in school, and we're discussing the the egg, and we're on the tail end of the unit where we get to when an ovum becomes a blastocyte and begins cell division, and my teacher says "and that's what starts a baby". And this Mormon kid was SHOCKED because he always thought people got pregnant from...:"bad" thoughts. The whole class stared at him, silent for a while. how he ended up in AP bio? but yeah. There are people who think that's how babies are made.
