In light of the Amazon worker strike, and seeing a bunch of posts complaining that this will disrupt the flow of packages over Christmas, this seems like a good time to remind folks:

STRIKES ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DISRUPTIVE.

Strikes are the peaceful alternative that the capitalist class agreed to, as opposed to us breaking down their door and dragging them into the street where a guillotine waits.

"My son turned out fine!"

your daughter doesn't feel skinny enough to deserve love and is barking for a girl 10 years older than her that she calls mommy

extremely depressing and predictable that for comment on trans issues from a trans person the washington post turns to: brianna wu, someone who the community has roundly rejected

ALAB. All Landlords Are Bastards.

Yes, even the nice ones.

Yes, even you.

The whole system of owning someone else's home and extracting profit from them is both inherently exploitive and forces them into being a bastard. "You don't pay rent, you're gone. We can find any possible reason to confiscate your security deposit, we do. Anyone without a squeaky clean rental history and who can't afford 2-3 months rent up front never gets keys.

Yes, I get that tenants can be terrible and destructive too. Yes I know that home ownership isn't for everyone. But even still, making "passive" profits doing nothing more than owning property means you're participating in a system that makes you a bastard.

Ugh llm's aren't cool. The people who think they are, like teslas and mc mansions and selling your moral code to the highest corpo bidder

Dylan Roof killed 9 Black people with the motivation to incite a race war—NOT charged with terrorism.

Luigi Mangione killed 1 CEO with the motivation to rebuke healthcare injustice—charged with terrorism.

Class warfare is when wealthy CEOs are a protected class but working Black people are not.

when a site attempts to make rejecting tracking cookies inconvenient by hiding it behind a "Manage cookie preferences" option, i'm not more likely to click the big, convenient "Allow All" button. much more alluring than that is the "x" button on the tab

Most of us don’t love wearing a mask.

We wish it wasn’t necessary. We wish that covid was taken more seriously instead of putting the entire burden on the individual to prevent infection.

But we must face reality and adapt. Thats what masking is - adaptation & acceptance.

It’s also community care. Masking shows that you don’t agree that vulnerable people should be left by the wayside. It shows you care about the health of others and don’t want to be the reason someone gets seriously ill. It shows you don’t buy the government narrative that Covid is over.

It’s a sign of empathy, compassion AND resistance.

"losing land" to solar panel farms is the most wrong shit I've ever heard. You know what we "lose land" to? Parking.

I think it's probably true that people are tired of being told that everything is on fire. The problem is that everything is, in fact, on fire, and reality doesn't give a goddamn how tired we are.

Things ain’t normal.

Things ain’t going back to whatever you thought normal was.

Stop trying to find or return to normal again.

Work the what is. Not the what was.
