Pack gel into can. Sterno, for way less than what you can buy one for. Balanced formula:
2 CH3COOH(aq) + CaCO3(s) → Ca(C2H3O2)2(aq) + H2O(l) + CO2(g)
Post your yields for others to see
Unless you are in a professional lab don't by sternos. They easy as shit to make. Can, container, egg shells, white distilled vinegar, 2-propanol aka isopropyl, coffee filter. Mix shells with distilled vinegar in container let react until bubbling stops, decant thru coffee filter, filtered liquid is your product (calcium acetate). Heat calcium acetate gently until reduced by half. Let cool mix in about 5 times by volume of 2-propanol or your fav flammable liquid, poor off any excess liquid.
Phone phreaks generally hated the telephone company as an institution because they were a rip off. While they loved the technology they hated the corporation. Today I feel the same way about Google and YouTube. As far as I am concerned it’s ok to rip off YouTube, it’s even better to run ad blockers.
So yes, go ahead and rip off Google and YouTube. Your former Bell Telephone company will thank you.
Sometimes objections to anarchist policies feel like if you were designing roads and said "we'll put up a red sign to tell people to stop and check for incoming traffic" and someone said "ohhhhh so EVERYONE is just gonna listen to the sign voluntarily? dont be utopian, we need an armed guard at every crossing to ensure compliance." Like the baseline assumption is that people in your society will be deliberately non-compliant for unclear reasons always, and this is only a problem for anarchists. Otherwise it's totally possible to force a social order on an unruly populace without fomenting any large rebellions
Masking is a critical component of resistance in 2024.
Hot take: the most valuable aspect of the fedi is not AP or any protocol level stuff, but the premise that people build communication and sharing software and infrastructure that's entirely non-capitalist in nature and designed to interoperate for the benefit of the users, who own all their data and aren't licensing or donating it to any platform.
As long as I've been following politics, dems in power have been undermining ppl fighting for human rights.
That's the fucking truth of it.
We would be in a different world if the people fighting hadn't been undermined at every turn.
I hate those bastards.
@SimplySarah "They don't even have to shout slogans. They don't have to block traffic." Yes, they do.
Clearly, they are in a location Amazon does not like them being in; otherwise Amazon would not be attacking them with water and sewage.
*shrugs*
I'm an anarchist, and with that comes a commitment to "no heroes." But in a society that rewards, even worships the cruelest, greediest, most selfish, most violent, most power-mad sociopaths because of the size of their bank account and the political power it allows them to wield, you'll have to forgive me if I don't get bent out of shape that the kids love Luigi.
Me? I don't have heroes. But folks who'd give Elon Musk a handie if he asked don't get to tell me about "bad heroes."
Y'know, I still sometimes see people call Spotify better than piracy, but I don't know about that anymore. Now that they've demonetized so many tracks... if you pirate music, at least you know the artist isn't getting paid and you might buy it someday. Someone who streams music thinks they paid for it, and they'll never go buy it afterwards.
