Tech is political.

You encode your values, your attitude and your bias into the code.

The tech you create can give you legitimacy. It can give you influence. Get rich enough (or start out rich enough) you get doors opened to you.

It's all power.

We can see what some people in tech do with that power.

We can however choose to not contribute to that enablement.

You're in FOSS you've made some sacrifices.

When yourself and everyone you know is always sick, being sick becomes normalized. Must be that "new normal" we were promised!

Living like it's 2019 and being constantly sick is the "new normal" that won out over PPE and increased indoor air quality. This is the "new normal" they want us to live in, with zero mention of COVID to spare their "mental health". This is the "new normal" and the cost of (largely) unmitigated viral spread.

I can't accept that.

I won't accept that.

Fuck your "normal"; I'll continue with my "weird" life, thanks.

Someone dropped off a massive food rescue haul to our free fridge and community pantry today.

They're not part of my program and we're not sure who's doing it. This is awesome. It means there are others outside of our volunteer group that does maintenance on the fridges and outside of the group that I'm working with to build out our formal food rescue program.

This is huge.

This means we have successfully built post-scarcity *infrastructure*!!!

Folks are using our fridges both to contribute and to utilize. Folks that have nothing to do directly with the core group of maintainers. Wow.

We need to build more free fridges. This one is running out of room.
