Reading on many anti-Trump takes and No Kings banners, it dawns on me that most of you want the problem that is Trump for your daily life fixed, but you don't really care about the problem that America is for the rest of the world: coups, invasions, interventions, electoral meddling, drone attacks, etc.

And I can make the same argument for any fucking country in Latin America. When students died in a tortura chamber in Argentina, their torturers were trained in the School fo the Americas, when the Contra waged war in Nicaragua, they were armed and trained by the US.

The voracity of the US, justified by the Monroe Doctrine, has impoverished or fucked up our countries. In every single case, the US allies itself with the far right. What Trump is for Liberal Americans, the US is to the world.

Thinking again about yesterday’s memorandum in the States declaring that trespass and property damage associated with protests will be prosecuted as terrorism, along with the UK’s decision that holding a sign can constitute terrorism.

And some of us were saying 20+ years ago that the whole concept of “terrorism” as an exception to the normal function of justice and law enforcement was going to lead here.
