I suspend this old laptop, In hopes I can keep all my window layout intact. I press the power button to wake it up and no image.

I change the TTY, then back, and voilà. My desktop is there.

Alright, I'm backing off, no need to go there.

rPi's internet stopped working, learned about link-local, arp probing, dhcpcd.conf, how I always got the same local ip despite being under dhcp and didn't manage to fix it... rebooted the router and everything worked again. yay!
