before I got my hermit crabs I was reading about them and I saw a clickbait? kind of? article about them saying “hermit crabs are not REALLY crabs!” and basically it just described hermit crabs for like four paragraphs then was like “ah yes they’re closer to lobsters thanks for reading” and???? i don’t know what I was expecting but it wasn’t that
@peculiar_perryble Did you buy them or were they rescues?
@danishcookies I did buy them which I know isn’t the best but it was a local store rather than a big chain and I didn’t see any nearby for adoption 😕
@peculiar_perryble tbh they still would have likely gotten them from a mill. And pet stores almost NEVER know how to take care of these exotic animals. It's best not to buy them at all to not encourage their heinous practices.
@peculiar_perryble The only place you should ever purchase exotic pets would be professional breeders and rescues. In the case of hermit crabs, only rescue. There is literally no ethical way to sell them as pets
@peculiar_perryble But you do have a good grasp on how to take care of them right?
