@InvaderXan
Even better, they group everything under "international food"
@InvaderXan
LMAO
@InvaderXan
I guess the only good thing that come out of this is that they sell sushi in any [insert SEA or EA country name] restaurant. Which I don't complain.
@danishcookies
That’s a double edged sword though. I’ve yet to find a Chinese restaurant which actually serves good sushi!
@InvaderXan
But then again, the "authenticity" nowadays is mostly like a brand for tourism, rather than healthy cultural practices.
@danishcookies
True, and that part is pretty awful. Seems like even more of a thing in the US though? Which figures, I guess.
@InvaderXan
The rich gets the "pure authentic cuisine" while the poor gets the "cheap imitation alternative". Not to mention the neo-hippies have begun to cash in on that area as well.
@danishcookies
Yeah, screw that. “Authentic” cuisine (which, FYI, seldom actually authentic) made purely as an excuse to charge more money for it? That whole idea is deeply offensive to me.
@danishcookies
Yeah. And don’t even get me started on “world music” 😒
