queerphobia

How come there's this weird ass trend amongst historians that just because people of the past don't identify with a certain gender or attraction identity label like modern day means they won't even try to find an approximation? You do that shit all the time with political affiliation. That's literally your fucking job. This sounds like thinly veiled queerphobia to me. Honestly more than half the time they don't even seem to grasp the concept of these identities in modern time.

@danishcookies I don't think I'd really call it queerphobic, because it's much more than that. It's the deliberate act of conservative powers to erase queer existance from history to invalidate the present. Phobic fits, but this is more than that, it's a direct attack.

The good news is that things are bettering. I went on a LGBT walk here in Denmark, which walked around one of our major graveyards, pointing out historical figures and how they either very obviously or likely were LGBT.

@danishcookies Stories of gay people as well as of trans people by-another-name. It was quite nice to be able to hear those stories.

queerphobia

@ulvra The thing is that this isn't just practiced by Conservatives but even liberals and rather left leaning individuals as well

queerphobia

@danishcookies Definitely, I say conservative not as in a specific arbitrary party, but as in people of regressive beliefs, because that is in essense what conservatism is. To me it doesn't matter what political label someone stick on their own head, it's just a masquerade but it won't fool anyone.
