I've got an ominous feeling a lot of people only like Beastars right now because it seems like "furry boarding school teen drama" and...

...it's not

Those elements exist, but they don't last. The high school is very much a temporary setting to a much larger more complicated adult world with characters that can't be split into binaries, or refuse to do so

I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed s2 onward when they find that out :\

@dragonmagic i might actually tune back in for that... I didn't really like what I watched of S1 but I have heard the manga has a more complex/better story later on?

@catgoat oh for sure!! I myself really didn't get interested in the plot until around chapter 35, I would say that chapter/arc is the catalyst that starts the transformation in tone and plot for the rest of the series

although, I bet some fans would argue that the tone *officially* changes when the "back-alley"/black market is introduced in ep6/ch 22 :bunthink:
