ok who's running around telling people on birdsite you *have* to make multiple accounts on masto?! 
@dragonmagic I've seen people coming up with ideas like "you need an account on every instance you'd want to talk to people" and I don't know how that idea was born
@jollysea kinda curious where this huge misunderstanding came from
but at the same time not at all surprised that people are just wiling to believe this stuff without looking into it or trying it out for themselves
@dragonmagic I think it had something to do with "what if your instance defederates?"
@jollysea I suppose, but I've only had to remake an account twice?

@jollysea nah, this was their excuse to use *any* social media that isn't masto, which is why I felt a bit insulted by it 😕
