tl;dr watching this interview with a polygot video, surprised to find that we share a lot of the same ideas for learning a language
but,... if only there had been a less annoying learning German podcast available to me in the late 2000's
I recall intensely hating the voice acting to the point where I couldn't pay attention to it ;w;
like yeah the grammar & vocab was giving me headaches, but the stuff I was trying to absorb was even worse somehow

no, wait, I remember now, I specifically checked out when inanimate objects had preassigned pronouns
why was the bus feminine and a car masculine?
my neurodivergent brain needed an answer, there wasn't one, so things just felt more and more remote and unobtainable from there
along with confusing vocab
