A foldable phone for media consumption is kinda pointless since they fold out to be 4:3 and the actual media will be roughly the same size as just on a normal phone
@MochiWaifu exactly
When Samsung showed the Fold with WhatsApp, YouTube, and the browser like
You could see like two text bubbles in WhatsApp, the video for YouTube was smaller than the area for "upcoming videos", and the webpage was just a normal phone size
Do you really need to constantly see the chat as it's going? Can't you just use YouTube's picture in picture mode????????
@evie Exactly the photo i had in mind. It's so awful and... basically useless honestly...
@MochiWaifu my favorite was when they showed Google Maps
When are you realistically gonna be driving and be like "oh hold up I gotta unfold my phone for a bigger map"
The turn by turn navigation is just fine with a normal phone?
@evie "hold up i got a map"
*unfolds my phone twenty times, it's now dangling through the air and the screen is a saggy, blurry mess*
@evie but what about all my 4:3 media from 20 years ago!?
@evie also just realized the screen is 4K but because of the aspect ratio you can’t watch true 4K content cuz it don’t fit.
@fillertrack BUT!
You can but that 4k media into a third of the screen in an even SMALLER 4:3 window to multitask!
Just imagine......
A main focus of Google maps on the left, a 4k video in a 4:3 in the upper right corner, and your texts in the lower right corner
@evie beautiful
@fillertrack the ultimate driving companion
@evie Also funny: all the multi tasking photos
because you can see all the messaging apps just being completely smushed and far too small to actually properly use
