I feel like they added some dialogue to help it make sense? I've never seen the stage play, but I heard it's all singing. The movie felt like it made sense?

the CGI is really weird, unsettling, and uncanny valley in places, especially since there's a pretty CGI-heavy scene near the start, but you get used to it pretty fast. I felt like it was kinda part of the experience.
