People really out here defending not having any kind of fast forward in JRPGs
@OchotonidKnight the article in specific was talking about the Trails games
@LANthus fast forward is just a bandaid over the real problem of grinding tbh
Also, I've literally never seen people complain about how there's an auto-attack button that fast forwards the combat in Persona games, people are most likely just complaining on Twitter because it was a Kotaku article
@evie or people are rightfully mad Kotaku is clueles and wrong about JRPGs as usual.
@LANthus or they see "Kotaku" and immediately disagree with any opinion piece posted
@evie they should. Kotaku writers are by and large just posting "UM ACTUALLY" articles. But original point, grind isn't an issue in RPGs anymore than... Idk just playing the levels is in a platformer. That's the genre's gameplay loop. If you want to skip past a game's gameplay loop just... Idk play something else?
@evie I hate fast forward and it's actively degrading the genre. No other genre is expected to have a "I have no attention span get this over with" button, why do people insist on ruining the core of what turn based games are?
