Cyberpunk 2077 seizure PSA

Don’t know how many of y’all have seen this but apparently there’s a sequence that specifically flashes red and white lights so uh, heads up if y’all were thinking of playing this

Cyberpunk 2077 seizure PSA

@evie lmao this is fucking ridiculous what the fuck

Cyberpunk 2077 seizure PSA

@evie just when i thought this game couldn’t get any worse

Cyberpunk 2077 seizure PSA

@evie

Holy crap, that's UNSAFE!!!

re: Cyberpunk 2077 seizure PSA

@evie i enjoy flashing lights. Will wait until the game is a bit cheaper and others have tested how well it runs on linux though.

Cyberpunk 2077 seizure PSA

@evie why the fuck would they do this

Cyberpunk 2077 seizure PSA

@the_gayest_goat_in_town @evie Presumably because "Wow cool effect" our something. :blobcoffeeunamused2:

Cyberpunk 2077 seizure PSA

@evie That's fucking evil? Like what the fuck

Cyberpunk 2077 seizure PSA

@evie How did they not think of just adding an option to disable this stuff?

Or, you know, use common sense and *not include patterns designed to cause seizures in their game*

re: Cyberpunk 2077 seizure PSA

@evie Jesus, how could they be that negligent.

Cyberpunk 2077 seizure PSA

@evie I used to work for an epilepsy nonprofit and What The Actual Fuck

This is just straight-up co-opting of Actual Medical Devices meant to be used by Actual Medical Professionals in controlled environments to induce Actually Dangerous Situations

There is no way this is coincidence at all. Red /specifically/ is /the/ most triggering color for photosensitive epilepsy, and this is well-documented in materials for a number of media industries.

@evie irresponsible that is anakin

re: Cyberpunk 2077 seizure PSA

@evie Yikes, it's bad enough when some games I play give me a migraine headache from flashing light effects from explosions, I wouldn't want to let any of the output from this within 500 feet of my eyes just from how painful it sounds to look at. I mean, isn't the point of a video game that you can look at it without being harmed? I guess not, anymore...
