my parents used to take away my phone + laptop whenever they got angry at me, essentially cutting me off from all social contacts and my one and only lifeline if i were in danger (well. More danger i guess)

@popsikul not thinking or simply not caring, for sure. i know that at least in the midwestern area that i’m from, generational trauma is so interwoven in the social fabric that it is hardly even questioned. it’s very “my parents treated me like shit so now i think its normal and im going to treat my kids like shit” sort of thing

parents not thinking about how their actions impact their kids seems to be one of the major factors that made the millenial and Z generations what they are. its a cruel world but at the same time there are gifts given by it
