A few thoughts on Pride, Inclusivity, Police

Heyyyyy it's pride month. Always a good opportunity to remember that trans poc literally rioted in the streets and put their lives at risk fighting for basic rights as fellow human beings 50 years ago in the US.

Also a good reminder to create inclusive spaces for trans folks, poc, and trans poc in the community wherever and whenever you're in a position to.

On a related note, cops have no place in pride parades.

In case anyone was wondering due to recent discourse, Toot! will be blocking any gab domains.

I do not support white supremacy and hatred, and will never support any server that promotes it.

Take a moment to protest the monstrous rule stripping away protections from our transgender friends. Protections that prevent them being denied medical care when dying of injuries.

does anyone have recommendations for analyses of the like... economic structure of relationships between websites (especially but not exclusively for-profit ones) built on (mostly) uncompensated user-generated-content and the content creating “users”, in particular regarding commonalities and differences from older economic relationships (as with wage labour, systems of volunteer labour, etc.)?

@InspectorCaracal @funkeh

(esp since I think a few people have submitted at the same time and between that and federation distribution racing, it's actually hard to *determine* a first chooser sometimes. might be easier as a link to a basic list, or a popup box with the first five listed, that leads to a longer basic list?)

@naugeleh @jkl

It would come with a fake plastic piece of popcorn guaranteed to never go stale, because it is not food.

Of course the enterprising sort of humanoid could replace that with a popped piece of popcorn semi regularly, but with the plastic one, there's the option to not carry one piece of popcorn. One could just make the joke, eat the plastic popcorn, and then go straight to the hospital.

Y'know, as one does when friends are having fights.

wife ( @jkl ) and I came up with the idea of a little plastic popcorn container that literally holds one piece of popcorn, so a person can literally bring it out during arguments and claim it's their "emergency popcorn" for eating during entertaining squabbles

thoughts? 😸

that asshole @jkl created a fax number so we could get medical paperwork and she put "8008" in it

so of course all I can see is BOOB when I look at it

I just know she did this on purpose
