I remember thinking gosh, this partner doesn't mind me barking playfully around them. I shouldn't leave them ever because I'll never find that again with someone local.

Then I've proceeded to have that kind of playful openness and authentic experience with every single person since then for years.

So maybe some of it is luck. But I think it just goes to show sometimes we make up any excuses to keep ourselves in bad spots.
