My health journey
2005 - Decided to start transition
2007 - Started hormones
2011 - Had surgery

Yay... But then...
2011 - Noticed my hair was falling out
2013 - Having now lost ALL of the hair on my body, finally saw a dermatologist about it. Diagnosed with alopecia universalis
2012-2015 - My confidence destroyed. My self-esteem in the toilet. My sense of self eliminated, I hid from the world. Avoided friends. Avoiding public spaces. Stayed indoors...

2015 - Started figuring out how to use makeup to make me look nice/normal again. Drawing in eyebrows, doing eyeliner, covering my rosacea. Started leaving
2016 - Met @poss_bot and started to develop on a path of fuller self acceptance
2017 -> - Increasingly focusing on other areas of my life than the medical issues. I feel like they've become a part of my life, rather than a horror I had to face. I'm finally able to see wigs and makeup as "just like clothes"

@pandora_parrot @poss_bot oh my gosh that's a lot for you to contend with! I'm glad you're here and have better self-acceptance, you're super lovely and deserve all the happiness. 💜

(my partner and I both have hecka medical struggles and this was really encouraging, also I super want (need) to make wearing a wig a normal part of my life. it feels so good to, but I get so shy about it in public :blobflushed: )
