I'll share for #SNESFriday, why not.

My first memory was actually the Super Famicom. My best friend in elementary school moved to Japan temporarily. It was DEVASTATING to me. They kept their house here because they were moving back after three years, so they came back every summer and he stayed with me for a few days.

One of those years, the Super Famicom had come out but the SNES wasn't out yet, so he brought it for me and I played Super Mario World and F-Zero for weeks before all my friends.

@BobbyBlackwolf That must have been so cool to be able to play and show off F-Zero. I remember getting a Japanese Game Boy Advance before it came out in America with Super Mario Advance. Was cool to be that kid on the block with a console before anyone else.

Best part is that it was region free, so I ended up keeping it until I got my SP.

Cool! I was also lucky enough to get a Japanese GBA and Japanese Super Mario Advance before they came out here. It was trippy to be playing a handheld game and hear all the characters announce stuff like "Super Mario USA!" and "Just what I needed!" F-Zero Maximum Velocity blew my mind too.
