@tom
Let's hope these players stick around. If they don't, I think it would be within reason to roll back to the naming screen.
@fediplayspokemon

@VieilOgre
We should give them one chance. If we even get consistent 20-something votes in a poll for anything other than a naming screen, I won't complain, even if I'll push for a name change when we reach Goldenrod. If we're back down to the mid-tens within a day, it's safe to say these people see us as nothing more than a bathroom stall. I really hope this will be the former case.
@tom @fediplayspokemon

@katan
I get where you're coming from, but I'm still frustrated when after weeks of planning, the game becomes the butt of someone else's joke, and then I get treated like one of the bad guys for not knowing what's going on.
@VieilOgre @tom @fediplayspokemon

@phi1997 @VieilOgre @tom @fediplayspokemon a questão é que o jogo é aberto, então tá sujeito a isso, né.. 🤷

Eu acho que é parte intrínseca do jogo.. É como o mestre de RPG que cria um monstro maravilhoso e os jogadores resolvem nem passar perto 🙃

@katan
Who wants to play a game where whatever they do can be undone at a moment's notice because someone with more reach thought it would be funny?
Sure, this is a relatively harmless case, but it would be really cut and dry wrong if the same people were instead brigading to release our Cyndaquil.

I appreciate the teamwork, but you shouldn't take this game too seriously. We're basically playing Twitch Plays Pokémon in Democracy mode. The only rule is chaos. Nothing is sacred. If a group of jerks ever brigade us, release all of our battle ready party members, save, and make the game unwinnable, and so be it. If you want a perfect battle team, go play Pokémon Showdown instead.

@hitstun @phi1997 @katan @VieilOgre @tom @fediplayspokemon
But on Twitch, it's in real time.
It's not that easy to be hijacked like that.
And people are many.
Here we are like 20 people.
And I don't want a perfect battle team, I wanted to see if a game played 1 frame by hour can be finished by random pokéfans on Mastodon.

@hitstun @phi1997 @katan @VieilOgre @tom @fediplayspokemon
But yes I guess "it's the game"... anyway I hope those guys will move quickly.

@Mikie1600
Tom can change the rules, though. We don't have to put up with trolls, and deserve better than them.
@hitstun @katan @VieilOgre @tom @fediplayspokemon

@phi1997 @hitstun @katan @VieilOgre @tom @fediplayspokemon I don't know... It's true that it's better to keep it open... I'm just bummed people came for give a shitty name and be mean.

Maybe it's not that deep...
I don't know.

@Mikie1600
I think the game should temporarily pause, then quietly reopen a week or so later. Let the trolls move on to other targets so those of us who actually want to play the game can do so in peace.
@hitstun @katan @VieilOgre @tom @fediplayspokemon

@phi1997 @hitstun @VieilOgre @tom @fediplayspokemon

Yes, it's a good option I think.
Like that people who really want to stay and play, will be always here.
I really don't like how people talk to us, I feel like they can do whatever yes...

@katan
No, I don't think you, specifically, are a troll, but brigading polls is a common example of trolling. Before today, I pretty much have never talked about trolls on Mastodon. I don't think the people who named the rival Butt were trolls. But now that a case of trolling is right in front of me, yeah, I'm pointing out trolling left and right.
@Mikie1600 @hitstun @VieilOgre @tom @fediplayspokemon

@Mikie1600 @phi1997 @katan @VieilOgre @tom @fediplayspokemon As our popularity grows, we will become more resistant to brigading. I'm happy more fans are finding us and joining the voting, even if we're naming a crappy Pokémon "Fart". I think we'll make good progress through the game together, one input per hour. I believe the voting majority will usually want to make progress through the game... when we're not wasting a whole month backtracking because we forgot to talk to Professor Elm, anyway

@phi1997 @hitstun @katan @VieilOgre @tom @fediplayspokemon Yes, I don't know why he dislikes Sentret so much, like it hurt him personally or somewhat... ^^'

@Mikie1600 @phi1997 @katan @VieilOgre @tom @fediplayspokemon
gets Bidoof flashbacks, but shakes it off

Because this level 2 Sentret isn't even a good HM Mule, and we get a better one in Krabby before we actually get the HMs to teach one. I knew two days ago this was a waste of time. But then someone threw a Poké Ball and now we have an international incident. We should've been through Cherrygrove City by now.

@hitstun
Krabby will be a massive pain to catch. Plus, the one we already have is better than one we don't. I wish we chose not to give this Sentret a nickname
@Mikie1600 @katan @VieilOgre @tom @fediplayspokemon

@hitstun @phi1997 @katan @VieilOgre @tom @fediplayspokemon

Okay and how we get Krabby? Because Sentret wa easy to catch at least.

(By the way put the links into the sentences is very cool.)

@Mikie1600
Fishing. Earliest way to get Krabby is from a 10% chance encounter using the old rod. Catching one would make this naming screen seem quick.
@hitstun @katan @VieilOgre @tom @fediplayspokemon

@Mikie1600
Ah, thank you. Most of the Fediverse supports Markdown, a safer way to format text than HTML. If you write text like this...

[Speedrun route](https://www.speedrun.com/pkmngoldsilver/guides/xmk9w)

...it displays like this...

When I learned to run my old subreddit and now my Mbin community, Markdown was essential for nice-looking pages. Most Mastodon users don't know it works here.
