The effort my nesting partner (my nestie <3) is going through to try to learn ASL without making it my job to teach them is genuinely warming. Hearies don't ask your partners to teach you, don't tell us you'll learn for us, just do it without making it our problem. I promise it'll mean more to us than you can imagine
