Why is the world so awful though, why can't people just be nice to each other, or failing that just not actively try to ruin people's lives

@lambdagrrl Righteous anger is a drug; empathy takes effort; people want somewhere to dump their fear and rage and frustration... Take your pick, I guess. In the end , I think it’s what the systems we live in do to us.
