cis person talking about trans stuff, vocab

I find the "egg" analogy for individual people realizing that they're trans and "hatching" cute and nice, but I'm missing a shorthand that I think is related. It's the thing where one person in a group transitions and other people see that it's possible and recontextualize a lot of feelings, and more people in the group transition afterward - it's like a geode breaking open, maybe. Is there a word the cool kids use for this?

@yomimono I haven't heard one, and I sort of suspect that it might be fraught territory for trying to coin a term. Given (and I apologize for making your day worse by letting you know about this thing) the transphobes who've been trying to coin "rapid-onset gender dysphoria".

And it sucks, because this is a cool thing! Both the queer version and the trans version, and both in how we help each other and how we find each other even while still in denial.

@klara @yomimono personally I'd reclaim ROGD and use it with an implicit irony, but probably not something a cis person ought to be doing

@lambdagrrl @yomimono I have seen a few trans people on Twitter do that, it's true.
