I do hope #starcitizen gets something different than the current "distance explodey into dust" just for the visual experience at least.

@Plus_Ultra they do basically say they'll do something fancier pretty much as soon as they got maelstrom to work with, which... given maelstrom is essentially "turn big thing into lots of small things and look good doing so" seems like a sensible sort of thing :)
