A switch to let people you support know that you do, possibly even a way to let them send you a message (not a content delivery system, just a send-an-email thing), it would suddenly make liberapay kind of... an actual possible patreon alternative for a lot of people who just want to show that gratitude :)

if you're white and you use the internet, you have a duty to ensure that the spaces you are in are not a safe space for white supremacists. no, "oh but I like this person and they've never done anything in MY group" -- listen to us. listen to what we have to say. report people to the mods or if it's an ongoing problem, *leave the fucking group and let people know why you're leaving*.

make mods explain their decisions. make it uncomfortable. make it weird.

it's the LEAST you can do.

Rome entered a terminal crisis in the 200s AD. But it took 200 more years for the western half of the empire to fall and 1,200 years for the eastern half to finally bite it.

Despite its failure, successor civilizations used its memory to claim legitimacy for millennia, with the Holy Roman Empire not ending until less than 200 years ago. The state religions of both the eastern and western empires persist to this very day.

Political and social systems can continue on for literally eons after they've proven themselves to be irredeemably defective.

I think about that when people talk about "Late Capitalism."

@violet They also have a partnership with someone who does really neat covers if the basic ones aren't a good fit for you (though you can also make your own covers, there's a pattern) :) They're also always happy to help out (email or telegram). (for a bit of disclosure, i don't work for them or whatnot, but i work on the android app, which is libre software :) )
