I guess I’ve wondered for a while now how we will know the moment when fascism has unequivocally arrived either in the US or UK.
There were Jews who recognised that same moment in 1930’s Germany and made escape plans.
I’ve just witnessed a number of GoFundMe pages on here for trans people to escape from the states they had long called home.
That moment is no longer a theoretical possibility, it’s sadly arrived. We can’t just pretend it’s not happening. We need global action.
@kdedude ...heh, arm's length ;)
Hello! I’ve been using a personal account on Mastodon for a while now, but haven’t used the business one yet. I intend to start posting here although I’ve been drifting from social media for a while now.
Please boost and spread the word that we’re here. We’re a queer small press based in Dallas and would like to not have to rely on Twitter to get the word out about our books.
@FibreKitty oh hey, much as we barely ever talk, I am still both happy and proud to count you among our friends - and yay hugs, those are great! :D
My favorite kinds of toots:
- I thought this was interesting.
- I went outside, this is what I saw.
- I’m making something.
- I’m trying something new.
- This is my jam. (Any kind of jam.)
- I made a thing and I’m proud!
- I’m bad at it a thing, but I’m sharing anyway!
- This is my important animal or person.
- Whimsical shitpost.
- Real life mundane thing.
“Simulations suggest that the extensive Copenhagen bicycle lane network has caused the number of bicycle trips and the bicycle kilometers traveled to increase by 60% and 90%, respectively, compared with a counterfactual without the bicycle lane network.
This translates into an annual benefit of €0.4M per km of bicycle lane owing to changes in generalized travel cost, health, and accidents.”
-> Those bikelanes have a payback time of a few years!

Magpie Market is a federated platform aiming to be an alternative to #etsy; leveraging the Fediverse to help #artists, craftspeople, and others promote and sell their goods and services. We believe the #fediverse deserves a marketplace built with federation in mind.
If you are a photographer or have fox photos you want to share, feel free to contact me (see bio).
Or if you know a photographer who you think might be interested, let them know. You can also send me links if you have a favorite animal photographer, I will contact them and ask.
Bonus points for indie/freelance or nonprofessional photographers who just want to show their cute fox photos to the world. 🦊
I'm doing some work on modern reception of medieval topics, and I'd like to find volunteers for a one-question survey (won't take much of your time!)
I'm looking for people who are actively creating or using any loosely medieval or medieval-inspired setting for any purpose. Also I need people who do *not* have any degree or better training in history.
If that's you and you'd be willing to give me ca 5 mins tops of your time, please shout! If not, please boost!

Its one law for us & another for you, part 433:
Recently #SuellaBraverman railed against what she called a 'Benfits Street culture', so the #DailyMirror had a littler look at her MPs expenses & found that while she is claiming #energy & other costs for her main home she seems to stay rent free at her parents when visiting her constituency... making her expenses a nice little earner, and shielding her from the #energy price rises we all have faced.
