@NekoEd if I view a post like that from the web there's a (working) link directly to the file on the remote instance though. in tusky there's a link there but it points to some media proxy on this instance which returns a 404. i have no idea if it's down to the instance not providing the correct link or the app not using the correct link 🤷
@NekoEd actually I realised the images in question were webp too so it wasn't an inter instance policy thing after all, it does just seem to be down to how formats not directly supported by the instance are handled
@lion That would explain why I've seen that once or twice. WebP is such trash.
@lion I mean, it acts off what your instance provides, so if your instance doesn't do it you can't really blame the app.
