also most retailers filtering options are shit and useless. sometimes they don't work at all. often they filter out products that actually do match your criteria but the specs weren't entered properly.
and sometimes you get stuff like this. how in the hell is 8"-15.6" a useful category for anything

what i tried already is a tripod extender like this which can get it in the right position, but my tripod is pretty cheap and it doesn't feel like the head part will hold up with the camera on the extension at a 90 degree angle cos it throws off the centre of gravity so much.
i don't really want to have to buy a new tripod
