so i want a new monitor which i would use with 3 computers: my personal laptop, my work laptop, and my old desktop (which i want to replace at some point)
the one i'm considering has 1x hdmi and 1x displayport, the laptops would use hdmi as they only support dp over usbc and i want to keep those ports free

ideally this would mean the desktop stays connected to the other port but it doesn't HAVE dp so i'm now considering buying a new graphics card for a machine i'm trying to retire ​

@misty apparently the thing i was using to compress jpegs down to a target size only takes that size as kind of a suggestion and will sometimes throw in some extra bytes as a bonus

i had to knock like 50kb off the target & it seems to work that way
