what i tried already is a tripod extender like this which can get it in the right position, but my tripod is pretty cheap and it doesn't feel like the head part will hold up with the camera on the extension at a 90 degree angle cos it throws off the centre of gravity so much.
i don't really want to have to buy a new tripod
i'm trying to put together a simple setup for photographing consoles & i think i'm close to what i want but not quite
i've got it laid flat on a table with a ring light above it & i want the camera to point straight down through the light but on a tripod i can only point it down at an angle (see pic)
anyone have any ideas for how i could achieve this, if it involves buying something not-too-expensive i don't mind

For those in Canada, the bill "An Act to restrict young persons’ online access to sexually explicit material" just passed Second Reading in the House, with ALL members of the NDP voting in favour of it 😩
This is a bill that would require Canadian's to "verify" their age (18+) with a third-party (ie upload gov ID) before accessing "sexually explicit" material.
Please contact your MPs to try and get this bill stopped.

@emaytch We find convenience in tension with control because the people with the budgets to give us convenience have incentives to take away control. I'm not convinced it's actually the case convenience and control are incompatible.
Today my sister and her fiancée got some upsetting news that throws their immigration and marriage plans into disarray. There’s absolutely nothing I can do to fix it, and it feels fucking terrible. If anyone has an extra buck or two, please consider helping them out. Taylor is part of my chosen family and I very much want her to be able to live happily with her fiancée Millie in the UK. https://www.gofundme.com/f/get-taylor-and-millie-together
