i dont understand why literally every new piece of BL lately has been either omegaverse, a barely even masculine protag, or both. like im literally so fucking mad ill see something that has good art for once (rare) and then i read the tags/summary and its ANOTHER GOD DAMNED OMEGAVERSE MPREG STORY WITH A PROTAG WHO MIGHT AS WELL BE SWAPPED WITH A GIRL AND NOTHING WOULD CHANGE!!! its just hot alpha male x (female) reader smut at this point!!!!

like its not even that i dislike a feminine male protag, it's just that the way its done most the time is so clearly just a way for female readers to self insert, and the character being male is fully redundant other than the infamous "we cant do this... we're both men!!" thing that never actually gets brought up again, you might as well just write a cinderella type story instead and the plot and dialogue would barely even change
