What's the best way to get a bash shell on Windows? I'm trying Windows Subsystem for Linux but it has some annoyances. Before I was using babun, but that was also not perfect.
@madewokherd 1) It won't run windows executables without appending ".exe", so I have to go through all my scripts to replace e.g. "java" with "java.exe" (or install the Linux version, which seems overkill) 2) It gives dire warnings about not editing files from the Linux filesystem in Windows text editors, so have to copy/symlink them or use vim
@draknek Git for Windows may be your best option then, as long as it has all the programs you need. That said, installing Linux java in WSL should work fine if you don't need a GUI, makes more sense than mixing things imo.
