“Ok what if I come at this from another angle and try to test the null hypothesis; I’ll find out what allistic traits and experiences are and see if I match them.”

- a promising idea, but very hard to research somehow? The top results are parodies, and then it’s just discussions by people who seem like they are RPing “who can misunderstand social norms the most”.

I guess some of it is sincere but shit like “allistic people are liars because they use sarcasm and think it’s fine.” because not all allistic people are like that, and definitely some autistic people are. Where do I put my own use of sarcasm? I try not to use it but I do understand it… everything is so complex and nebulous!

This would all be a lot simpler if it weren’t a spectrum lol

(One thing I did relate to heavily was “Allistic people are happy not knowing something they could easily google.” and yeah, that is incredibly frustrating! I feel like half the time I’m talking with family I’m also fact-checking etymology or which actor was which.)

@Sophie My impression is more that they're happy *discussing and speculating* on things they could easily google. Not that I'd know what being allistic is like.
