@compostablespork @hollie I actually find recipes tend to go poorly for me, and I tend to do better somewhat improvising. But I do this by combining 1 thing each from 4 categories of "known" ingredients.
I regard emotion as another sense. I would say it's the one I imagine best in, and probably the only one I can do "in band".
@madewokherd @compostablespork The "out of band" concept is useful for my brain, too.
Also I think I may have messed up a bit at the start in writing about all this. When I said I see in images, I neglected to add that they're often blurry or blobby or just big fields of color or shape with associated sensation. It isn't a technicolor movie all the time (though if I'm working on a visualization, then it can be very close to that).
