I wonder how hard it would be to make a mod for Dark Souls or Elden Ring, where you have a menu that lets you pick a boss (or any enemy really) and then it starts a fight, but in a training mode...

Like, you have infinite health, and extra visual and auditory hints for attacks to help you learn the timing.

The extra aids could slowly lower in intensity as you do better, and become more intense if you mess up.

Just, a helpful practice mode.

@madewokherd Are they? How have I never found them?

I mean. That makes sense... But, I don't think I've ever heard anyone mention them.

Guess I just need to look.

@minego I mostly encounter them in speedrun and randomizer communities.

@madewokherd I have played with randomizers a fair bit, but I haven't ever been active in the community really.

@minego Competitive scenes are highly incentivized to come up with time-efficient ways to practice things.

@madewokherd That makes sense.

My thought was something more targeted towards casual players who feel the game is too hard and want a less stressful way to practice.

I suspect that some of the tools out there could be good for that, but the approach for that audience could be very different.
