Since I am very behind on social media, I just read this today apenwarr.ca/log/20260316 and I think how CW deals with this in practice is:

  • Different levels of review in different branches. Little to no review in specialized/short term branches, extensive review in our long term dev branch. And we work on both concurrently.
  • Fill the pipelines. While I'm waiting for reviews I work on other stuff.
  • Prioritize reviews/tasks that block other people.
Follow

I would say when reviewing I'm not looking for bugs so much as things that will make my life harder in the future. Is it the right approach, is it easy to reason about, does it need tests, do we understand why it works?
