Earlier today I was reminded of a shenanigan from 2015 in where @scunning and I took an Apple Lisa 2 to the Apple store on April Fool's day. @mary @scunning We never really did a writeup on it, but this is basically it: We were inspired by a similar thing where a bunch of people brought old Commodore hardware to a Starbucks in Toronto and tried to think up something similar. I had recently finished restoring a Lisa 2 and decided it would be pretty hilarious to take it to the Apple store and say "Hey, we found this old Mac, any idea what it is?"
@scunning @mary The Apple store employees were really entertained by it. One of them got on his walkie talkie and said "Hey, some people just walked in here with a Lisa" resulting in a bunch of employees coming out from the back to gawk at it. A lot of other customers ended up taking pictures of it, and I opened the machine up to show the Apple store employees what their company's machines looked like circa 1983. Honestly they're easier to fix than an iPhone. Phillips screws, no glue, etc.
