Today I finished Ruthanna Emrys' #wintertide and I really liked it.

The meta elevator pitch I came up for it:

"Imagine the world desribed in Lovecrafts mythos stories was real, but most of his stories are severely distorted by him being the horribly racist asshole that he, well, was.

This book takes a look at the world without that ugly filter."

It's a book filled with queer characters, focuses on women, has PoC and calls out the racism and sexism of the time. (And today.)

Basically Lovecraft would be horrified and I love it. 😸
