Hi! I'm going to try this! interests atm: squirrels, Enby, plants, knitting, space, all things queer, trans positivity+ empowerment. follow-recommendations welcome! :)

Drag discourse

@HeckTheCistem @laura

I pretty much agree with everything Laura said. I like when it's a space for people to queer gender and make fun of oppressive gender conventions. I dislike when it's used to mock or invalidate trans women, which sadly feels frequent to me. I've also had the experience of cis male drag queens treating trans identity like a costume or kink

Drag discourse

@HeckTheCistem well there's a can of worms is my first impression. I generally don't like drag shows cause I've experienced a lot of transmisogyny in connection to that, but then it can also be really cool and for some trans women especially a space to discover themselves. So it's kinda hard. I stay away from it but also really appreciate how queer it can be when not pandering to hetero- or cissexism.

YOU CAN DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT!
(if your instance runs 1.4.3)

1) Go to *Settings*.
2) Click *Credentials*.
3) Look under the *Delete account* section, and click the "proceed here" link.
4) Confirm account deletion when asked.

This is better than creating an account on a capped instance, making 2 sad toots, then leaving never to return.

Clean up and free up so others can tee up.

i think people conflate identity politics with identity--politics reductionism. folks should be clearer that identity politics is good and central to materialist analysis but identity-politics reductionism (idpol that ignores class) is bad

@pawlowa I don't think so, not right now :) *doesn't feel quite as good looking as it is*

Ok the cat forgot hair around its ears and generally looks a bit less than perfect

Which doesn't matter though because as we know, all cats are beautiful 🐈💝

chrisrodley@twitter: "I used deep learning to cross a book of dinosaurs X a book of flowers"

This is gorgeous and a fantastic use for machine learning. <3

@the_all (deleted answer because I read over the "multiple accounts" part) Subway Tooter can do that. And I think Tooty Fruity and the Pawoo one as well, not sure though.

what we're going to do with every post with .fa-spin on it. We're not great at CSS but whatever.

so people know, the gnusmug instance is an anime nazi cesspit and should be entirely blocked

Hey, some folks have figured out how to spin text in toots. That's fine, but if the portion you're spinning leaves the display region then it starts taking on a strobe effect and might be an epilepsy trigger.

Therefore, please hide your spinning text behind content warnings.
