oh dear fucking god codecademy you're not keeping me motivated by forcing me to learn what "greater than or equal to" means for the 70th time in my life
So… The Codecademy Python course is Python 3 now
I tried it and it is still Codecademy, it is incredibly boring, slow and actually learning stuff from it is hard, it's more like autopilot doing what the instructions say.
Also, no skipping lessons, so no learning new stuff if you learned anything off Codecademy.
There's an anthology of Speculative Fiction stories by trans authors coming out next month and I'm on it, alongside 24 other amazing authors!!

From @GameHistoryOrg on Birdsite: Are you a writer interested in digging deep into video game history? We want to pay you to write for us! https://gamehistory.org/writing-fund/
(I don't have any rhetoric to go along with this, just wanted to point out that the way it's done in english and other indo-european languages is by no means the default)
every white dot on this map represents a language that doesn't make gender distinctions in its pronouns http://wals.info/feature/44A#2/16.7/148.6
how weird and interesting would it be to speak a language that does this https://mastodon.social/media/vmDmI7TUMM1cX-XmZWw thinking about how it would feel to be a trans person using the correct inclusive first person pronoun for themselves and their interlocutor(s) for the first time
But that one about AO3 reading habits / fanfic preferences is fun https://stuck-in-ffxv-hell.tumblr.com/post/163964231580/ao3-fanfiction-reader-analysis
Well, if you're into long, slightly dubious surveys about opinions on stuff, definitely do this one: https://genderandsexualityexperience.tumblr.com/post/163453377063/survey-into-gender-and-sexuality-experiences
(I'm kind of sceptical, but still interested in the results, with all their possible limitations.)
Ableist language, CW meta
"stupid" and "dumb" really aren't good CWs for personal, emotional stuff, shitposts or anything else. I totally get why people are using these, but maybe reconsider the specific words and ableist concept?
If you really want to CW your emotions as "devaluated in an ableist way" (I get it), there's "whiny", for example. (In reality, there is nothing wrong with being whiny, of course.)
If you're semi-shitposting, there's "silly" and tons of more graphic descriptions.
Ha ha who else on here craves & fears physical affection & is extremely shy? #relatable
