Just found out about a rly cute gender neutral word for Mum or Dad: Ren (as in paRENt) and it can be shortened to Renny like Mummy or Daddy!

I am just so glad that Calibre exists? It is so good and I like it so much. And DeDRM. I am eternally grateful for Apprentice Alf's DeDRM. And really just BOOKS THAT ARE NOT PAPER. I really like this part of existence.

Okay, I started to play VA-11 HALL-A. It looks a bit like Read Only Memories except not quite as pretty and a bit more overwhelming.

And @jollysea reminded me that it's possible to get some characters from R.O.M. to appear! Including TOMCAT! I really like TOMCAT!! va11halla.wikia.com/wiki/Categ

(And here is how to get TOMCAT, I'm spoilering myself but I also really need more TOMCAT in my life. va11halla.wikia.com/wiki/TOMCA)

Searching for sources of basic linux knowledge is always fun because what you find is 90% people being exasperated that reading the man pages and only the man pages (of what they don't say) is not your preferred way to learn everything ever

I am not the kind of person who plays many video games, but sometimes I just crave some 8-10 years old fps and don't have any installed and that is tragic.

Today I learned about the only workers' strike in space: the Skylab 4 strike, in which the crew went no contact with Houston for 24 hours due to being forced to work 16 hours a day (for 85 days no less), and work through their meals and rest days to catch up when lagging behind.

They never made it out to space again (boo, NASA), but had a definite influence on NASA policies regarding work loads.

I think that this twitter thread on disability & browsing the web is really interesting for mastodon twitter.com/captainsafia/statu

Loads of perspectives. Shows how sometimes, the solution is very straightforward and simple, and sometimes, meeting contradictory access needs can be a bit more complex and is just as necessary.

Do electric cats dream of analog laser points?

Omg, Imzy with its multiple profiles per account was PERFECT for fandom stuff. Dreamwidth isn't going to work for me, I would have to get a second account and I'm just too lazy.

okay guys. back in the day I wrote #fanfiction on livejournal and was part of a bunch of fic prompt/fic exchange communities. I want to get back into that, but have no idea where those communities even are now. AO3 doesn't seem to have a ton of community aspects, but maybe I'm just selling myself short with my "don't read the comments" hardline take.

why #Facebook is not an honest publishing system (I run a large fb page, btw)

My post got 155 views by my likers, but facebook offers to ALLOW 348 of them to see something they wanted in this first place by liking my page but ONLY IF I PAY FACEBOOK one euro.

Facebook sells my likers back to me and holds them hostage. Fuck that.

"collection"

I mean

the box where I put dice that find their way to me somehow :3 *is not a collector cat*

Oh. *uses some online dice roller, when my meatspace dice collection is less than a meter away from me*

Oomg, there is a hoax about a "confirmed" Daria movie, again, and at first I believed it, and I'm pretty disappointed now.
