it is ridiculous, yes, but come on the word was in the url that i posted and things like this always make my feels super embarrassed, like, everyone got a good view into the ways my brain jumbles everything and just uses random stuff with no connection to what makes sense
yes sometimes i use a different word than I intended to but this is so much more bearable in forms of communication that don't just stay there, for everyone to look at.
@maunzikation there indeed are some stylish modes for light themes. Your friend also have the option of using mobile app, i know that Tusky and TootyFruity on Android both have dark text on light background option ;)
This firefox addon (via @Antanicus) is named after doing the opposite, but you can change the settings to get a light background and dark text: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/dark-background-light-text/ (just be warned, while doing so, the description of which color is which will not be readable if you just switch the two β¦ in retrospect, obviously *confused cat* m)
(By which I'm not implying that I actually want/need things CWed for length here, just that I often have trouble reading long things and am feeling very at home here where 400-500 characters is already considered "long" π»)
Another one for folks who _can_ use light on dark, just not to the extremes of the original theme: https://infosec.exchange/users/cherokeejb/updates/1024
If you can generally handle light text on dark background, but need some contrast improvements to the original theme, toot.cat has that: https://toot.cat/users/ashkitten/updates/15381
Sadly, I am also not a person who can actively contribute to β¦ all of this β¦ because I β¦ know nothing β¦ about β¦ those things β¦ and the mere thought of contributing to discussions by anything more than π or β€ stresses me out, welp.
I'd also like to point out that I didn't pay enough attention to these things until I saw someone's tweets today about how this is not working for them, at all.
And that is one way that exclusion happens, when you don't take issues that you know about theoretically THAT serious, because you are not personally affected.
Still, as of now, individual users are responsible for making this service accessible to them, because the default is one that is hard or impossible to read for many people, and there is no built-in way to change these things. There is talk about all of this on Github, so I am hopeful. But really, right now, this is⦠not a good situation.

To sum up the replies (thank you so much, everyone!), so far no instance recommendations, but:
Tusky (Android client) has a light theme and uses Android's font size settings (thanks @frankiesaxx @Amaury @Jules)
